3133 Delta Street

Address: 3133 Delta Street
Built: 1913
Householder: Frederick J. Quaintance, janitor

This house was built in late 1913, when the real estate market in Victoria was collapsing. The house stood vacant for nearly a year. In 1914, it became the Quaintance family home. Frederick J. Quaintance was born in Exeter, Devon, England; he was 32 years old and employed as a janitor when he moved into this house. His wife, Lillian, was a homemaker. They moved to San Franciso in 1916. This place on Delta Street was subsequently the home of Thomas Miller, a streetcar conductor.
